Imagine yourself working in a very hot indoor building. Now imagine that you are surrounded by tons of garbage. The heat, mixed with the smell, would turn away any person who is not used to that type of environment. Not our local ENECON technician! They had no problem solving this damaged concrete flooring problem at their local garbage transfer station.
Heavy equipment traffic, along with the various elements and waste that are found in these environments, caused devastating concrete degradation to the floors of this southeastern garbage transfer station. With concrete cavities up to 12” deep, DuraFill was determined to be the prime solution. DuraFill is a two component system, combined with locally sourced aggregates for both broadcast flooring applications and the filling of deeper cavities. This product also has the ability to bond to a number of different materials, making it an ideal solution for multiple applications.
DuraFill and locally sourced quartz sand was used to fill the large holes and the floor was set. This application was done while the garbage transfer station was still operating, and the area was back in service within 24 hours, saving the municipality lengthy down-time and new concrete flooring costs.
